Google Japan has been busy. A team of dedicated members has assembled a chorus comprised of 300 Androidify characters — each on their own device — to promote its “be together, not the same” marketing campaign.
The demo video opens with the team setting up the array of devices with a disturbing amount of cables, and moves into the fourth and final movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 — better known as Ode to Joy, — and abruptly breaks out into a quirky and upbeat rendition of the piece.
Needless to say, it’s nothing short of mesmerizing.
The ensemble will be showcased in public performances in Omotesando Hills in Tokyo from February 12 to the 15th, “singing” songs such as, Haru no ogawa (Springbrook), Grandfather’s clock, Le Temps des cerises, and Plaisir d’Amour.
